According to bookstudy, it's ok to beat wife.....occassionally
by JWinprotest ini apologize if this has been mentioned, but i don't have the time to come on here as often.
yesterday's bookstudy on divorce got my shorts in a bit of a knot.
apparently, according to the god's love book, a wife could consider legal separation from her husband if she is physically abused, but (get this) only in the case of extreme physical abuse, and if the wife's life is in danger.

Just like they always give experiences of high school graduates who turned a million dollar scholarship to pioneer and they are so happy cleaning toilets and Jah is providing. Yipppeee. It is not ever of a high school graduate who went to college and is now so happy to be making a decent living and cause the pressure of eaning a living is not hanging over their head they can concentrate on "spirtual matters." They make their points loud and clear. It is called peer pressure/ mind control.
Who said it was wrong to further your education in order to provide your family with the neccesities of life? It was "Not" GOD for HE understands what is necessary to survive. There are people who end up having to work three jobs if not more just to maintain the cost of living. Why would GOD instruct those HE loves to suffer in that way? Be wise as your Father is wise and adjust to this wicked world until The Kingdom of GOD provides all of the neccesities of life for "Free".......

Was Jesus a hunchback, unibrowed dwarf?
by villabolo ini recall some time ago reading a book (i forgot the title) that stated that there was an early church tradition about jesus being deformed.
one source described him as being 3 cubits tall-41/2 feet (males at that time and region were on average 5'4"), hunchbacked, long face with a unibrow that made him look terrifying when he looked at you.. i was wondering if any of our scholars, leolaia or narkissos are familiar with this issue and perhaps enlighten us with some references.. villabolo.

Does this passage indicate for a certainty that Zacchaeus was 'small in size' - or that Jesus was?!
The highlighted one is the answer -

That is how I see the Watchtower behaving when they push for more, more, and even more field service. That tired old man has already given you more than his fair share. Instead of asking to do more than his body allows, why not show him appreciation for what he has already done and allow him his well-earned rest?
Who do you approach in order to accomplish what you just stated? The man or the W.T.S.? Neither one of them might listen to you so no opportunity for resolution in your way of thinking.
What would GOD do?
GOD would tell you to worship in spirit and truth and not follow any organization. Study the bible and do your best to conform to a christlike personality. Teach those that are willling to learn based upon what you understand without stating that you are all knowing. If you feel like you want to go out on the street and teach ot from house to house to teach so be it. There is nothing wrong with that unless it is against the laws in that land. In that case study on your own and teach when you can. Jesus Christ layed down his life as a perfect sacrifice once and for all, therefore no one else has to sacrifice their life. Donate your monies if you can afford it to those with little or nothing. Something as little as 25 cents to a child in need is better than the same amount to any organized religion. You support the cost to maintain their building and it is just as simple to meet inyour neighbors home.Who ends up with the value of the real estate in the end the people that go to worship or the one that holds the deed to the property? Use your thinking ability when it comes down to your worship and weigh things out in your hearts and minds. You will be rewarded accordingly.......

Son, I have read that book lots of times, 7 times, to be exact. I want nothing to do with that book. Of the sum total of its parts, about 5% teaches love, if that much. The vast bulk of it teaches rape, genocide, aggression, and jealousy and violence. I want nothing to do with any religion that claims to worship the 5% and in reality acts out the other 95% most of the time.
I am sorry I have no idea what you mean. Are you referring to the bible?

So what do you think a perfect man should be like? Is he light, fair, or dark skinned? Which is more attractive which has been proven? Which is more compatible in the sun and would not cause cancer? Is anyone familiar with the properties of color? White reflects and black absorbs so would it make more sense to have a medium skin tone? Who said Jesus even looked Jewish? None of his mothers attributes pass on therefore his attributes are soley from GOD, the Designer and Creator of humans. Was his hair light medium or dark? Did he have facial hair or long hair? No one knows except those who saw him in person. So many questions to be answered wouldn't you all agree? How tall was he? If all men are created equal does that not mean that all men will grow to the same height? What about appearance, where do the attribute come from?

1 Who has put faith in the thing heard by us? And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed? 2 And he will come up like a twig before one, and like a root out of waterless land. No stately form does he have, nor any splendor; and when we shall see him, there is not the appearance so that we should desire him.
This means that he was humble and dressed like a commoner, unlike one of royalty and kingship.

did not read all of this....but i guess i applied the same thing....my wife slapped the total shit off my face last year twice in a row...i mean it may have been a closed hand even...and it was during a fairly calm argument/discussion over da troof.........guess i pushed a button too hard and wham wham....so i just quietly walked away....won her without another word right?....hell no.........oompa
Well perhaps you should have thanked her for removing your discarded dinner from your faceThe same applies to both husband and wife even if a wife might be weaker. A strong man will do as you did and walk away, this is praiseworthy.

This is so simple to answer or refute. Look at all of the people you see in existence today and tell me who you think might come close to being perfect? Would it be someone like your favorite actor, someone you have seen on the street or have met? Well in the case of Jesus Christ, he was a "Perfect" man therefore perfect ifn form, intelligence, and appearance. He was "Only" 33 years of age upon his sacrifice so young in appearance. He was perfect in every other sense of the meaning so a handsome man. The artist that portray him as anything else are not using their thinking abilities.......

I am not upset by any means. And of course you have valid points where the teachings of the W.T.S. can cause harm to those that follow their teaching. In the case of saving someones life as in the situation of blood tranfusions, by all means do your utmost to save a persons life. Your example of this older gentleman is based upon what you feel might be causing him depression. On the contrary this is what perhaps he enjoys so why change it? What you can do in this case if at all possible, is to ask this man not to be so hard on himself. Help him to understand that GOD will take all into consideration exspecially his old age. This might helo relieve what you feel might be his guilt and depression. I feel bad when I stray or do something I had no intention of doing. This is not such a bad thing. Have a good day and know that you are also praiseworthy for standing up for what you feel is right and/or accurate.
